Adam Bloodgood

Originally from Seattle, WA, Adam trained at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School for 12 years under the directorship of Francia Russell and Kent Stowell, succeeded by Peter Boal. Along with dancing many corps de ballet roles with the company, Adam also had the privilege of performing George Balanchine’s Chaconne, Stars and Stripes and Cortege Hongrois and originated roles in works by Bruce Wells, Jonathan Porretta and Stanko Milov with PNBS. Adam was the only student to perform in Nacho Duato’s Rassemblement with PNB. In 2010, Adam created the role of a priest in Stephen Mills’ new production of The Magic Flute with Ballet Austin. Adam later joined Ballet Idaho where he originated the role of Kashchei in Peter Anastos’ new production of Firebird and was featured in many other ballets. Additionally, Adam has performed with Nevada Ballet Theatre as a guest artist. This is Adam’s second season with Dayton Ballet.

Case Bodamer

Case Bodamer was born and raised on the south shore of Long Island where he began his ballet training with Kathleen Kuirns-Scholz. He spent his summers training at New York State School of the Arts, The Julliard School and Ballet Austin. Case spent his freshman year of college at The Ailey/Fordham Bachelor of Fine Arts program before accepting a traineeship with Ballet Austin. Most recently, he spent his summer dancing with Ballet Montana. Case joined Dayton Ballet in 2008 where some of his favorite roles have been "R.M. Renfield” in Stuart Sebastian’s Dracula, “Uncle Ernie” in Christopher Fleming’s The Who’s Tommy along with dancing in Septime Webre’s D-Construction. Case is thrilled to return to Dayton Ballet for his fifth year and would like to thank his family for their endless support.

Katy Bowlby

Katy Bowlby is from Durango, Colorado. She received her training from Dance in the Rockies in Durango and worked closely with esteemed Teacher/Artistic Director Valerie Madonia. Ms. Bowlby spent several summers training with The Jillana School and Ballet West; she also attended summers at The Joffrey Ballet in New York and Colorado Ballet on full scholarship. In 2011, Katy was a finalist in the Denver Ballet Guild competition for her performance of Odile’s Variation from Swan Lake. She spent the 2011-12 season with Colorado Ballet’s Studio Company. With Colorado Ballet she performed in Swan Lake, Michael Pink’s Peter Pan and community outreach programs. Her favorite roles include Swan Corps in Swan Lake, First Couple in Annen Polka from Mr. Joffrey’s Kettentanz, and Bells in Ms. Madonia’s The Polar Express. This is her second season as a trainee with Dayton Ballet.

Brittany Butler

Brittany Butler is a native of Pennsville, New Jersey.  She began her training at The Academy of the Dance under the direction of Arthur Hutchinson.  Brittany attended high school at NCSA with a major in ballet.  After graduation, she was chosen by Adam Sage and Robert Philander to join Missouri Ballet Theater.  Brittany spent one year training in St. Louis and then accepted a contract with Lexington Ballet.  During her two seasons there, she worked with Luis Dominguez and Nancy Cole Dominguez, learning roles in ballets such as Firebird, Giselle, Cinderella and other repertoire pieces.  Brittany then moved to Cincinnati Ballet to work in the Second Company, where Devon Carney, Johanna Bernstein Wilt, Suzette Webb, and director Victoria Morgan were her mentors and instructors.  Brittany is very enthusiastic to be joining Dayton Ballet for the 2013–2014 season.

Paul Gilliam

Paul Gilliam started his ballet training in Ardmore, Oklahoma and finished it in 2002 at the Houston Ballet Academy. Though Paul has been performing elsewhere for three years, he has happily returned to Dayton Ballet for his eighth season. While away, he performed many leading roles including “Franz” in Coppelia, Diana and Acteon, “Basilio” in Don Quixote, Esmeralda pas de deux, and in many contemporary works. During his seven years with the Dayton Ballet he performed as “Escamillo” in Carmen, “Renfield” in Dracula, “Peter” in Peter Pan, “D’Artagnan” in The Three Musketeers, an “Ugly Stepsister” in Cinderella, and he was a featured artist in Trinity, as well as many featured roles in The Nutcracker.

Elizabeth Glander

Elizabeth Glander was born in Dubois, Pennsylvania, and moved to DeLand, Florida, at the age of four.  She started dancing at the age of six, after seeing her friend’s sister dancing around the house.  After her first lesson in pointe shoes, Elizabeth announced it “feels like flying!”  Elizabeth trained for ten years at the Academy of Dance Arts, a DeLand studio, under the ballet mistress, Eileen Zielinski.  In addition to her studies with Miss Eileen, Elizabeth also studied at the Orlando Ballet School and the Harid Conservatory.  Additionally, Elizabeth has participated in summer dance intensives at the Orlando Ballet School, the Universal Ballet Academy (Kirov Ballet Academy) in Washington, DC, the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and the Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida.  Elizabeth danced with the Nancy Einhorn Milwaukee Ballet II from 2009-2011 and Louisville Ballet from 2011-2012.  This is Elizabeth’s second season with Dayton Ballet.

Brian Grant

Brian Grant, raised in Rockford, IL, received his B.F.A. in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Dance Performance from Northern Illinois University (NIU). Mr. Grant would then join Louisville Ballet for the 2005-2006 season. Mr. Grant danced a varied repertoire including roles in Don Quixote, Lambarena, Vivacé and The Seasons by Val Caniparoli, Sleeping Beauty, Theme and Variations, Le Corsaire, The Three Musketeers by Andre Prokovsky, Troy Game by Robert North, Raymonda, and the world premiere of Rite of Spring by Adam Houglund. Mr. Grant has also performed pieces choreographed by emerging choreographers such as Lee-Wei Chao and David Ingram. This is his second season with the Dayton Ballet.

Marcia Hetrick

Marcia Hetrick is from Carmel, Indiana, and began dancing at age 13, training with Central Indiana Dance Ensemble under the direction of Suzann DeLay. In 2011, she graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in Ballet from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. While attending UC, Marcia had the privilege of dancing professionally with Kentucky Ballet Theatre, Ballet Theatre Midwest, as an apprentice with North Carolina Dance Theatre for the 2009-2010 season, and as a trainee with Dayton Ballet for the 2010-2011 season. Additionally, she has spent summers with Joffrey Midwest, Milwaukee Ballet, and Ballet Montana. Marcia is excited to be returning to Dayton Ballet for her fourth season, and she thanks her family for their continual love and support.

Erica Lehman-Downey

Erica Lehman-Downey is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana and began her training at the Academy of Fort Wayne Ballet under the directorship of Michael Tevlin. She attended summer dance programs at American Ballet Theater in New York and the Joffrey Midwest & New York workshops. Upon graduation from Butler University in 2005, Erica joined Dayton Ballet where she enjoyed dancing “Lady Capulet” in Septime Webre’s Romeo & Juliet. Erica has also had the privilege to dance with Madison Ballet in Wisconsin, Cape Town City Ballet in South Africa and perform a world premiere ballet of Ron DeJesus, which later became a PBS documentary. Returning to Dayton Ballet in 2009, Erica is glad to be back for her fifth season and is grateful to her husband for his unending support.

Austin Lintner

Austin Lintner is a native of Richardson, Texas, and began his ballet training with Tanju and Pat Tuzer at the Tuzer Ballet.  A recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Dance directed by Mary Margaret Holt, Austin performed leading and soloist roles in works by George Balanchine, Ben Stevenson, Bronislava Nijinska, David Lichine, and original works by the School of Dance faculty.  He also performed dancing roles in OU Opera Theatre productions as well as OU Musical Theatre's production of On the Town, directed by Lyn Cramer.  In addition to dancing, Austin has created a variety of choreographic works selected for OU's Young Choreographers' Showcase.  Austin is thrilled to be joining the Dayton Ballet this season and cannot thank his family and loved ones enough for their continued love, support, and encouragement.

John Mingle

John Mingle is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, where he began his dance training at the age of six with the Corpus Christi Ballet.  He continued his ballet studies with Texas Ballet Theater School and the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet.  In 2012, John earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance with a minor in photography from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  John has spent summers studying on scholarship with the San Francisco Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.  During the 2012-13 season, he was a member of Cincinnati Ballet Second Company, where he performed works by George Balanchine, Septime Webre, Victoria Morgan, and Devon Carney.  Some of John's favorite roles include the Waltz Man in Balanchine's Serenade and the lead in Arthur Mitchell's Holberg Suite.  John is thrilled to be joining Dayton Ballet for his first season.

Abby Phillips

Abby Phillips is from Taylor, Michigan and started her ballet training with Ballet Americana. She studied under the direction of Leif and Patricia Lorenz where she had the opportunity to dance lead roles in various ballets. Her training also includes tap and jazz from Joy Squire and Julie Phillips with the Taylor Dance Program. She has been the recipient of several scholarships throughout her dance career including the Merit Award and Scholarship from Regional Dance America for three years in a a row. Abby has attended multiple summer programs including BalletMet, Salt Creek Ballet, The Joffrey Midwest and the School of American Ballet. Abby is very excited to join Dayton Ballet for a fourth season as a Trainee.

Evan Pitts

Evan Pitts, from Jacksonville, Florida, began his training under the direction of Christina McDonald, of Fascinatin' Rhythm Studio of Dance, at age eight. Evan was a member of a performing group called The Moving Company, also based out of Jacksonville. He shared his talents with the community by performing the Community Nutcracker where he performed many soloist roles. Mr. Pitts continued his training with ballet mistress Rhonda Stampalia and Dr. Phyllis Penney at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts for three years. In 2009, after given the opportunity to work with Adam Sage and Robert Philander of Missouri Ballet Theatre, he moved to St. Louis as a full time company member. Evan has spent the last two years dancing under Luis Dominguez of the Lexington Ballet. He is excited for his second season with Dayton Ballet.

Nathaly Prieto

Nathaly Prieto was born in La Habana, Cuba where she began her training at the Provincial School Alejo Carpentier. At age 15 she danced in the production of Giselle with The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami directed by Pedro Pablo Peña. She joined the Thomas Armour Youth Ballet in 2007 where she performed several lead roles in Don Quixote, Paquita, La Bayadere, and Le Corsaire under the direction of Ruth Wiesen.

Nathaly received her Associates in Arts from New World School of the Arts where she performed works by Peter London, Gerald Ebitz, and Tina Santos. She attended the Dance Theatre of Harlem and Joffrey Ballet School summer intensives in NYC. Nathaly was a member of the Joffrey Ballet School Performance Company from 2011-2012, under the directorship of Davis Robertson. This is Nathaly’s second season with Dayton Ballet as an Apprentice.

She has danced many contemporary works with choreographers such as: Africa Guzman, Julie Bour, Brian McSween, Catherine Miller, Endalyn Taylor, Robert Garland, Michael Uthof, Gerald Ebitz, Davis Robertson and Josee Garant.

Halliet Slack

Halliet Slack is originally from Louisiana and is in her tenth season with Dayton Ballet. She has trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts as well as Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Before joining Dayton Ballet, Ms. Slack danced with Richmond Ballet where she performed well-known works of George Balanchine, such as Concerto Barocco and Serenade as well as John Butler’s Carmina Burana. Some of her favorite Dayton Ballet roles include “Blanche” in Karen Russo Burke’s A Streetcar Named Desire, Septime Webre’s Carmen and Christopher Fleming’s The Who’s Tommy. She especially enjoyed being featured as the “Dew Drop Fairy,” “Snow Queen” and "Sugar Plum Fairy" in Dermot Burke and Karen Russo Burke’s The Nutcracker and “Mina” in Stuart Sebastian’s Dracula.

Lauren Stenroos

Lauren Stenroos returns to Dayton Ballet for her third season. A native of Akron, Ohio, she received her early training from Nan Klinger and continued her summer studies on scholarship at Chautauqua, Richmond Ballet, and CPYB. Lauren graduated from Mercyhurst University in 2009 with a BA in dance and a minor in music composition, and has composed many original works for choreographers. Prior to Dayton Ballet, Lauren danced with the Lake Erie Ballet from 2005-2009 and Nashville Ballet II from 2009-2011. Some of her favorite performances include George Balanchine’s Who Cares and Serenade, Lesley Bories-Scalise’s Terra Firma, Paul Vasterling’s Carmina Burana, Gina Gardner Walther’s Between Heaven and Earth and Diana and Actaeon pas de deux. Lauren is honored to be part of the second oldest ballet company in America and looks forward to her second season.

Jammie Walker

Jammie Walker began his dance training in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He trained at Western Arkansas Ballet under the direction of Melissa Schoenfeld. He recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he studied under Mary Margret Holt, Austin Hartel, Derrick Minter, Steve Brule, Jeremy Lindberg and Clara Cravey. He has performed in New York City with Darrell Grand Moultrie’s company, Dance Grand Moultrie. He has also performed in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Utah with Cheyla Clawson’s company, Clawson Dances. Jammie has had the honor of touring in China and Austria with Oklahoma Festival Ballet, and has danced as a guest artist at Western Arkansas Ballet and Allegro Ballet of Houston. This is Jammie's second season with Dayton Ballet, and he would like to thank his family for their love and support.

Annalise Woller

Annalise Woller is originally from Boulder, Colorado, and began dancing when she was six years old. While training at Boulder Ballet, Ms. Woller particularly enjoyed dancing the roles of Josephina in Josephina's Story, and Alice in Alice in Wonderland. She later attended the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program and the Juilliard Summer Dance Intensive among others. Annalise went on to study dance at Goucher College where she was granted the prestigious Fine and Performing Arts Scholarship for dance, and the Global Citizen Scholarship for academic endeavors. After only three years, Ms. Woller graduated from Goucher College with Honors in Dance Performance and a minor in mathematics. In 2009, Annalise returned to Boulder to dance with Boulder Ballet where she was promoted to principal and featured as Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. Ms. Woller also greatly enjoyed being a part of Delusions of Grandeur Productions and The Dayton Arts Project, both of which work to incorporate several art forms within their productions. Annalise is very excited to be returning to Dayton Ballet for her fourth season, and thanks her family for their continual love and support

The Legacy 1937-2012
